Mission: To be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ
“Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him.” (Mark 1:41 NLT)
The Congregational Care Ministry of Mt. Horeb provides support, care, and prayer for the needs of families and individuals at various stages, places and circumstances of life. Our dedicated Congregational Care pastors, staff and volunteers work to meet the spiritual, emotional, physical, and relational needs of our Mt. Horeb community. We are here to walk alongside you through the challenges and trials of life as well as in the celebrations.
Stephen Minister – A Stephen Minister is a specially trained person who provides one-on-one, Christ-centered care to hurting people through prayer and encouragement. Stephen Ministers are not counselors, but caring persons who will walk beside you as you face whatever challenge or difficulty whether loss of loved one, divorce, loss of job or other trial usually through weekly meetings.
Hospital Visitation – Our team visits all the local area hospitals to pray with you and encourage you on your road to recovery.
Homebound and Nursing Home Visitation – Whether in rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, or children on “homebound” from school, we offer care to those who are unable to attend worship. This care includes visits, bringing communion, flower delivery, and cards.
Grief Care – Times of loss are difficult. We are here to walk alongside you through all aspects of grief providing prayer, support, classes, and materials.
Baby Baskets – The Foundations team welcomes new life with a basket including a Bible and other gifts.
Meals – The “Casserole Care” team lovingly prepares meals for families after hospital stays and other times of need.
Although we are a large congregation, Congregational Care Ministry’s mission is to provide care and support to families and individuals in a personal and compassionate way. Please call the church office at 803-359-3495 to speak with one of our pastors if you or someone you know is in need of any of the above services we provide.
We have many opportunities each day to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ – and we want to help each one find their place of service. Maybe it’s visiting someone in the hospital, joining our recently formed Stephen Ministry team, caring for a family during a time of grief or loss, or visiting with a shut-in or nursing home resident…whatever need arises. We believe that God has equipped and enabled someone – perhaps you…to meet that very need!
