The invitation of Jesus is not only to believe, but to come and follow him as well. A disciple is someone who has accepted that invitation and made to the choice to orient their lives around who Jesus is, what Jesus has done, and what Jesus is still doing in the world today. Adult Ministry at Mt Horeb exists to come along side of you in your commitment to follow Jesus and help you take that right next step through numerous weekend and midweek class options that cover a variety of topics, connectional ministries such as Men’s and Women’s Ministry, intentional small group communities, and opportunities to serve out of your giftedness and call.
The full life of God isn’t something that we can experience on our own, but is something that meets us in a very real way as we move closer to one another. That’s why we are dedicated to growing in intentional Christ-centered small group communities that are committed to pushing one another forward, lifting one another up and sending one another out. There are two ways to get connected with a small group. The first is to attend a ONE Life Small Group Launch class (see below for current offerings). If your schedule does not allow you to participate in the class, please fill out this form and we will help you get connected. For more information on getting into a small group contact Nick Cunningham.
|ONE Life Small Group Launch Class||I Can’t Attend, Help Me Get Connected|
Our classes are designed with purpose. They are created to help you strengthen life foundations upon Biblical truth. We believe the foundations of our lives to be Biblical understanding, finance, marriage/singleness, and parenting. Sunday School classes go on throughout the year. Below are ongoing classes being as well as those being offered summer 2017.
The Parables Wednesdays 615-730 PM
Great stories have this way of going around our heads and instead they often speak to our hearts. Jesus was without a doubt the greatest story teller who ever lived. His preferred method of teaching was through parable. Many of these stories have shaped our world in unimaginable ways, and they have been opening people up the transforming power of God for nearly two thousand years—who’s to say they can’t change us as well? Join us for this six week study through some of the parables of Jesus. Starting June 28th in the Student Room. MKids care is available but please register here.
Women’s Book Club Wednesdays 615-730 PM
Giddy Up, Eunice: Because Women Need Each Other by Sophie Hudson
In her delightfully quirky Southern style readers have come to know and love, Sophie Hudson sends out a rallying cry for women everywhere to open our eyes and see the people God has put in our lives. It’s easy for women to focus on what seems to separate us. The reality, though, is that we have far more in common than we realize, and since Scripture shows us the blessing of friendships across generations, it’s time we step out of our same-age, same-style, same-stage silos. Starting June 28, join Lindsey Cunningham and Lynn Ullman as they share this book, and we come together to laugh and talk and walk with one another soaking up the blessings that flow across generations. Books available at amazon.com. Click here to register. Mkids care available with prior registration.
Women’s Topical Study Sundays 600-730 PM
Made to Crave: Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God, Not Food by Lysa Terkeurst
The reality is we were made to crave. Craving isn’t a bad thing. But we must realize God created us to crave more of him. Many of us have misplaced that craving by overindulging in physical pleasures instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction. Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. Starting July 9, join LeAnna Flynn for 6 weeks as she leads women through this perspective changing book. Participants are asked to purchase the participant guide. The book is also recommended but optional. Both books available at Lifeway or amazon.com. (No MKids care available.) Click here to register.
