The invitation of Jesus is not only to believe, but to come and follow him as well. A disciple is someone who has accepted that invitation and made to the choice to orient their lives around who Jesus is, what Jesus has done, and what Jesus is still doing in the world today. Adult Ministry at Mt Horeb exists to come along side of you in your commitment to follow Jesus and help you take that right next step through numerous weekend and midweek class options that cover a variety of topics, connectional ministries such as Men’s and Women’s Ministry, intentional small group communities, and opportunities to serve out of your giftedness and call.
The full life of God isn’t something that we can experience on our own, but is something that meets us in a very real way as we move closer to one another. That’s why we are dedicated to growing in intentional Christ-centered small group communities that are committed to pushing one another forward, lifting one another up and sending one another out. There are two ways to get connected with a small group. The first is to attend a ONE Life Small Group Launch class (see below for current offerings). If your schedule does not allow you to participate in the class, please fill out this form and we will help you get connected. For more information on getting into a small group contact Nick Cunningham.
Circles USA Poverty Simulation
You can’t solve a problem from the outside, but it first requires you to understand it from the inside out. This is certainly true for the issue of poverty. We often think in overly simplistic terms when it comes to poverty and the people who are affected by it. The poverty simulation is designed to help participants begin to understand the complexities of poverty and what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family trying to survive from month to month. You will assume the roles of a particular family facing poverty and be tasked with providing the basic necessities and shelter during the course of several 15-minute “weeks.”
There are two opportunities to participate: Sunday, November 5th from 5:15-7:15 PM and then Wednesday, November 8th from 6-8 PM. The simulations will take place in the auditorium; elementary age children and older are welcome to participate. We will extended the M Kids program time to 8 PM, to provide opportunities for families with children to attend. We ask that you register here so that we will have an idea of how many people to accommodate for. If you have any questions, email Pastor Nick at email@example.com.
Our classes are designed with purpose. They are created to help you strengthen life foundations upon Biblical truth. We believe the foundations of our lives to be Biblical understanding, finance, marriage/singleness, and parenting. Sunday School classes go on throughout the year. Below are ongoing classes being as well as those being offered Fall 2017.
